The Cost department receives and files all civil pleadings. each lawsuit, succession is given a number and assigned a division. To assign a lawsuit or succession a number and division the first Plaintiff is put on the computer. The Suit Department finishes processing the party information.
Any advanced deposit required to process any pleading is collected by the Cost department. This department also sends monthly statements to parties with an outstanding balance on civil suits and collects payments.
Any pleading filed without a Judge's signature is processed by the Cost department who sends the document for signature and tracks the document until it is returned to the Clerk of Court. All dismissals are processed by the Cost department.
Additionally the Cost department manages civil imaging for public access on-line as well as for use within the office.
