Our administration is excited as we embark on a new journey to provide Calcasieu Parish with the most state-of-the-art, professional and people friendly clerk's office in the state.
One of our goals is to educate the public on what the Clerk's Office does and how the office affects our daily lives. One mistake made by the Clerk or the Clerk's Office, could have a major life changing impact on an individual or our community. Mistakes made in an election could change the outcome of an election, or a misplaced, or wrongly filed document could greatly influence the outcome of a civil, family court or even a criminal case. It is my goal to improve the Calcasieu Clerk of Court's office so that it becomes a standard of excellence for all Clerk's Offices.
I hope to use my extensive public service and administrative experience to position the Calcasieu Clerk's Office as one of the top offices in the State.
I have a lot of ideas I wish to implement to the Clerk of Court's Office. I feel that in everything there is room for improvement. I have established a philosophy dedicated first and foremost to public service, while administering prudent cost efficient policies directing public money towards its best use.
Efficiency will be stressed in all areas of the office, especially in sensitive record keeping areas such as court, legal and historic documents. I want to continue to improve on assuring fairness in the jury selection process, and make sure that no one serves more than his or her fair share. I plan to develop a community outreach program to increase the public profile of the Clerk's Office. These programs will include developing a Kids ID program and working with other similar programs to make sure no child is missed. I am utilizing the resources of the talent within the Office to develop an education outreach program to teach our youth how important it is to be involved in the election process and to utilize their right to vote. Lastly, I am working towards developing a historical archive that will encourage the public's participation in sharing historical documents, including photos that will help preserve our Parish's rich and important history.
I know by being your clerk of court that I may not change the world, but I know I can make a difference for my family and the citizens of Calcasieu parish. Thank you for electing me as your Clerk of Court, may God bless you and yours and may God bless America.
