DEADLINES

Register To Vote 

  • Deadline to Register to Vote In person or by Mail - Monday October 5th

  • Deadline to Register to Vote Online @ GeauxVote.com - Tuesday Oct 13th

Mail In Ballots

  • Deadline to Request a Mail-In Ballot - Fri Oct 30  (Because mail-in ballots MUST BE MAILED to the voter's address, ballots should be requested by Mid-October or earlier)

  • Deadline for mail in ballot to be received by Registrar - Monday Nov 2

Vote By Mail

  • Request an absentee mail-in ballot by the prescribed deadlines.

  • Call the Registrar of Voters office at 337-721-4000 or visit GeauxVote.com to UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS so the ballot is delivered to your temporary residence.

  • Be sure to observe deadlines.

ABSENTEE MAIL IN BALLOT / DROP-OFF OPTIONS

Request Absentee Ballot by completing the Application & Returning:

  • Registered voters can request an absentee ballot two ways:

    • Contact or visit the Registrar's Office (337-721-4000)​

    • Get application online at GeauxVote.com

    • It is highly suggested that voters choosing this method do so as early as possible so that the ballot is received by the Registrar's Office Nov 2.

Mailing Absentee Ballots 

  • Must be received in the Registrar's Office by Monday Nov 2 to be counted

  • Voters are encouraged to mail in absentee ballots by mid October.

  • Mailed Ballots can be TRACKED using the GeauxVote.com website.

 

Drop-Off Options

  • For voters who wish to hand deliver a mail-in ballot, please call the Office of the Registrar at 337-721-4000. The office is located on the 2nd floor of the Historic Calcasieu Courthouse.

  • For curb side service: Call the Registrar's Office, then meet staff at on the Pithon Street covered entrance of the Historic Courthouse.

  • Drop off times: Mon - Fri 8:00 am-4:30pm  (Closed SUN)

  • Deadline for mail in ballot to be received by Registrar - Monday Nov 2

  • 6:00 am – 8:00 pm 

Voting Locations

  • To view a list of updated locations, CLICK HERE.

  • If unsure of your previous precinct, you can SEARCH BY VOTER at the Secretary of State's Geaux Vote site.

  • Due to damage and various safety factors, 70% of voting precincts will be at alternate locations.

  • New Voter Registration Cards are being mailed out to voters whose precincts have been moved.

  • Residents are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to consider early voting to alleviate the anticipated wait times on Election Day.

Interested in being an Election Commissioner?

  • In anticipation of the election worker shortage, we are asking anyone that may be interested in becoming a commissioner to call 337-437- 3558  ext.123 or 144.

  • Our Co-Directors of Elections Jean Ann East or Princella Ryan will collect your contact info so that updated school information can be directed to you.

  • Election Commissioners are paid individuals who work the elections, verify identity, and assist voters.
